Supporting Women Through the Menopause Transition with Clarity, Confidence, and Compassion
For too long, menopause has been misunderstood, dismissed, and oversimplified. But thanks to experts like Dr. Victoria Mondloch—nationally recognized women’s health expert and author of Blossoming and Full Bloom—that narrative is finally shifting. In a recent LinkedIn LIVE Power Panel, Dr. Mondloch delivered powerful insights into how we can better support women through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.
Why the Traditional View of Menopause Falls Short
Dr. Mondloch, a retired OBGYN with decades of experience, saw firsthand how conventional medicine often leaves women behind. “Western medicine wants to write you a prescription,” she explained. “But bioidentical hormone balancing is natural—and you can’t patent something natural.”
Shockingly, only 15% of U.S. medical schools offer meaningful education on hormone measurement. “Women hearing this should be absolutely horrified,” said Dr. Mondloch. “What do you mean our doctor doesn’t understand what we’re going through?”
A Holistic Approach: The Four Hormonal Pillars of Women's Health
Dr. Mondloch developed what she calls the optimal health model, focused on balancing four foundational hormone groups: female/male hormones, thyroid, cortisol, and insulin. “Think of your health like a chair with four legs. If one is broken, you fall,” she explained.
Too often, women are told their labs are “in range”—but that doesn’t mean they are where they should be for their age. “I want to know if you’re age-appropriate optimal,” she emphasized.
Recognizing the Often-Ignored Symptoms of Hormonal Imbalance
From brain fog to joint pain, mid-abdominal weight gain, and even early bone loss, hormonal imbalances can impact every system in the body. “No one connects short-term memory loss to low estradiol or muscle pain to hormone decline—but they should,” said Dr. Mondloch.
She also warned of the hidden health risks post-menopause. “Your ovaries stop making female hormones—but not male hormones—so women become testosterone dominant, which can increase risks for breast cancer, stroke, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer’s.”
Empowering Women to Take Control of Their Menopause Journey
One of Dr. Mondloch’s most powerful messages? Know your numbers. She encourages women to advocate for themselves by tracking symptoms, understanding hormone levels, and even ordering their own labs if necessary.

Final Thought: Thriving Through Menopause Is Possible
Menopause is not the end—it’s a new beginning. As Dr. Mondloch puts it: “Women should be thriving, not just surviving.” With the right information, support, and tools, every woman can move through this life stage with strength, confidence, and vitality.
